Female sexuality is a central theme in the work of the Catalan artist Laia Abril. Images that evoke the warmth of family snapshots unsettle the viewer, who suddenly finds themselves drawn into the intimacy of other people’s lives and compelled to confront uncomfortable realities that remain obscured within society. Abril combines photography with other multimedia tools, including video and graphic design, in an ongoing body of work documented by La Fábrica in its PHotoBolsillo collection.
